Wonder Woman

When I think about ads that have struck me, I cannot easily think of any specific advertisement, what does spring to mind are movie trailers. One of my favorite things about going to movies are watching trailers. Part of why I love trailers is because it is a time to entice viewers back to the theater for more. Trailers are for showcasing a movie, in a way to make it pleasing to the eye, ear and mind. I love composed music in a movie or in a TV show. I study for school to original scores of movies that I love because it most strictly word-less music that I enjoy and often keeps me motivated. The trailer I chose for this post is the Wonder Woman trailer.
I remember seeing the trailer in the theater, and loving the message, the storyline, and of course, the musical theme. The ending theme sent chills up my spine and gave me goosebumps. It sounds silly, but if a trailer strikes me, I will watch again later, trying to recapture the feeling it gave me while watching it in the theater. I truly believe trailers can be a movie's greatest tool in convincing the public to come and see it on the anticipated date.
The parts of the brain that were activated when watching the Wonder Woman trailer are the limbic system, specifically the amygdala, and the parts of the brain involved in hearing: thalamus, temporal lobe and the brainstem. The amygdala is activated through my reward system, and the intense emotion I can feel. The goosebumps I experience, can be connected to my reward system and the release of dopamine. They can be a response or manifestation of my body going into 'fight or flight.' The temporal lobe is processing my higher-level of auditory input, and the thalamus is receiving the auditory input.
